Printer Recommendations for Thermal Labels

At RiseUp, we've gathered feedback from our customers and observed that Zebra printers are highly popular and well-regarded in the industry for printing thermal labels. While we are not equipment suppliers, we are pleased to share some of the recommended Zebra printers that have received positive feedback from users.

Please keep in mind that it's crucial to verify the equipment specifications against your current and future needs before making a purchase.

If you print under 500 labels/day:

Zebra ZD421D – Direct Thermal desktop printer, no ribbon required, less expensive

Zebra ZD621D – More horsepower than 421, direct thermal desktop, no ribbon required

*On the above printers, if you get the T version instead of the D version, you can print both direct thermal and thermal transfer. To print RiseClean Residue Free Labels, use the direct thermal setting and no ribbon.*

If you print over 500 labels/day:

Zebra ZT230 – Direct thermal and thermal transfer industrial printer

Zebra ZT411 - Direct thermal and thermal transfer industrial printer. This is the powerhouse.

You can purchase Zebra printers from many online stores. Please use your best judgement when purchasing from other suppliers.

Label Recommendations:

Shop 1" Core Rolls Labels for under 500 labels/day (ZD421 and ZD621)

Shop 3" Core Rolls Labels for over 500 labels/day (ZT230 and ZT411)

*For 3” Core Rolls, watch for difference between hand applied and machine applied in product description*

To print RiseClean Residue Free Labels, use the direct thermal setting and no ribbon.

We can and will produce any label size you need if you don't see your size in our online store. If you don't know what size you need, consider our most popular 4”x2” and discuss with your team.

Need to Know for Labeling:

Store your labels in climate-controlled environment.

Only purchase enough labels for up to 6-9 months supply. Do not let labels sit unused for longer than 9-12 months.

Ensure proper application of label by making sure all corners of the label are firmly down on the wood part.
